The Farm Journal Media serves every key audience in agriculture, including crop farmers, livestock producers, the produce supply chain, and ag retailers. The organization worked with MAVA Partners to create a customer Circulation and Fulfillment System to manage over 1 million subscribers across 9 publications.
Business Requirement
As the world has changed, Farm Journal has adapted as well, transitioning from primarily a publishing company to a data company with controlled circulation that generates revenue by providing user data to advertisers rather than relying on subscription fees. With 9 ag publications and a circulation of over 1.2 million, the organization needed a better way to reactivate past subscribers, consolidate contacts, control data, and streamline its telemarketing capability.
THE MAVA PARTNERS SOLUTION
Working with MAVA Partners, Farm Journal was able to upgrade from their Silverlight system and create a fully customized Contact Management System. The new platform gives them full control of their data, simplifies maintenance services, provides real-time reporting, and introduces a built-in telemarketing system that makes the sales staff’s job much easier. The system provides a custom sales script and automatically identifies the contact’s areas of interest, allowing the salesperson to cross-promote publications and apply multiple promotions and offers. As a result, journal circulation continues to grow rapidly along with advertising revenues.
